Subject: Please Lead to End Impunity in Sudan

The Obama Administration must lead in efforts to end impunity in Sudan.

The Khartoum regime, led by indicted war criminal President Omar al-Bashir, latest actions have included the population-clearing invasion of Abyei, war crimes in the Nuba Mountains, ongoing attacks against civilians in Darfur, and most recently an assault on the Blue Nile border state.

The United States must act boldly and lead in the efforts to bring about the immediate protection of civilians and a comprehensive approach to bringing justice and peace to all marginalized areas in Sudan.

Key to these efforts must be supporting justice:

1. Increased international coordination around apprehension of International Criminal Court (ICC) suspects.
2. Increased international support for further ICC cases targeting those responsible for war crimes in Abyei and the Nuba Mountain

(These two recommendations come from the Enough Project's policy essay, WHAT THE ARAB SPRING MEANS FOR SUDAN)

End Impunity promotes awareness and action towards this mission. End Impunity was created and is run by energy from Stop Genocide Now, IJCentral, and friends.

Stop Genocide Now (SGN) seeks to change the way the world responds to genocide by putting a face to the numbers of dead, dying and displaced.SGN is a grassroots community dedicated to working to protect populations in grave danger of violence, death and displacement resulting from genocide. Through active education, advocacy and policy change SGN resolves to change the way the world responds to genocide. All of our projects focus on and utilize the strength and power in grassroots connectivity.

IJCentral is a resource for concerned citizens around the world who want an effective International Criminal Court to prosecute perpetrators of crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide. As the IJCentral network builds, our collective voice will become a way to press political leaders to fulfill the mandate of the ICC.
